It has Loop recording ,2/5/15mins/off.If you set 2 mins,the DVR enters loop recording mode,press rec key to start recording (you can see "c" icon in the screen )When records to 2 mins ,DVR will stop recording automatically and save the video ,then continue recording,when SD card is full,DVR will delete the first video footage automatically and continue recording.

 It has motion detection .You can set time in menu (30 seconds,1 min,3 mins 5 mins).If you set 30 seconds,you can see "REC KEY TO DO MOTION DETECTING) showed in the sreen,press "REC" key to record.If no object is moving ,it will stop recording autmatically after 30 seconds.If there is always object moving ,it will delete the object circularly according to the time you set.It has ZOOM in/out function .Press right /left key to zoon in /out the image.Note :Under Full HD (30fps ),Full HD (25pfs ),720p(50fps) mode ,there is no zoom in /out function .
