The rollers of thrust spherical roller bearings are of spherical shape, and the raceway surfaces of the housing washers take spherical form, so the bearings are self-aligning.

The capacity of the bearings to carry axial load are much bigger, at the time of carrying axial load, they can also carry certain radial load. However the radial load mustn't exceed 55% of the axial road. Since these bearings are self-aligning, then not so sensitive to the eccentricity and bending of the shafts.
