Mode Setup Procedures
Before the instrument is delivered, initial set mode is: 360º system in angle unit, minimum reading of 1″, disabled power off, zenith angle for vertical angle mode, and enabled vertical axis tilt compensation function.
Assume the modes to be set as follows: 400 Gon system in angle unit, minimum reading of 1 mGon (5″), automatic power off in 30 minutes, height angle for vertical angle mode, and disabled vertical axis tilt compensation function. Proper setup procedures are described as follows:
1. Start up the instrument, and vertical angle crosses zero.
2. Press key and key simultaneously, and the instrument will go to the state of mode setup. In LCD, the upper left row is minimum reading, for instance, 1″ or 5″ in 360º system, and 0.5 or 1.0 mGon in 400 Gon system. The lower left row is automatic power off constant, for instance, 0 for disabled power off, 20 for 20 minutes, 30 for 30 minutes. The lower right row is vertical angle measurement modes, for instance, Ua for zenith angle, Ub for vertical angle, and Uc for height angle. The middle part indicates enabled compensation function. When the function is disabled, no indication exists.
3. Press key to change the number (400 Gon) in the upper right row. Repeatedly press it to alternate 360 and 400.
4. Press key to change the number (1.0 Gon) in the upper left row. Repeatedly press it to alternate 0.5 and 1.0 (Gon) or 1 and 5 (″).
5. Press key twice to change the symbol of Ua into Uc in lower right row. Repeatedly press it display Ua, Ub and Uc by turn.
6. Press key twice to change the number 30 in lower left row. Repeatedly press it display 0, 20 and 30 by turn.
7. Press key, and the TILT will disappear and the tilt compensator will be shut down. Repeatedly press it to disable or enable the compensation function.
8. After completing the above settings, press key and key simultaneously, and the instrument will record new settings and return to the state of angle measurement.
