Purpose and scope
The instrument is designed and made as per GB/T259 Test Methods for Water Solubility Acid & Alkali of Petroleum Products in the National Standard of Peoples Republic of China. It is suitable to determine water solubility acid & alkali in the liquid petroleum products, additive, lubricant grease, paraffin and wax component as per GB/T259.
The instrument extracts water solubility acid & alkali in the sample using distilled water or ethanol solution. Then check the color change of extracted solvent by methyl orange or phenolphthalein indicator respectively or determine pH value of extracted solvent by acidity meter to ascertain whether there exists the solubility acid and alkali in the extracted solvent.
