Potassium Fluorosilicate

1. Uses: 

Potassium fluorosilicate  can be applied in wood preservation, ceramic and optical glass. Potassium fluorosilicate can be used for smelting of aluminum and magnesium. Potassium Fluorosilicate is the raw material for the synthesis of the mica.

2. Characteristics:

Potassium fluorosilicate is white powder, odorless and weakly acidic. Potassium fluorosilicate can absorb the moisture. Potassium fluorosilicate is almost insoluble in water, aqueous ammonia and ethanol; soluble in hydrochloric acid. It is decomposed by heat to potassium fluoride(KF) and silicon tetrafluoride(SiF4), and hydrolyzed in hot water to potassium fluoride, hydrogen fluoride (HF) and silicic acid(H2SiO3). Potassium fluorosilicate is toxicant.
