Formerly known as the Productivity and Standards Board (PSB), Singapore’s Standards, Productivity and Innovation Board (SPRING). manages the Singapore Consumer Protection (Safety Requirements) Registration Scheme (CPS Scheme) to ensure the safety of consumer when using electrical, electronics and gas products.
CPS requires the traders and manufacturers of electrical, electronics and gas products (controlled goods) in 39 categories to meet the specified safety standards.
All controlled goods must be certified by a third party Conformity Assessment Bodie (CAB) designated by SPRING and bear the Safety Mark. After obtaining a certification, the product’s registered suppliers (RS) should register the products with Safety Authority.
Before entering the Singaporean market, a company taxable in Singapore should obtain a PSB certificate for the product and be the certificate holder.
