SUPERMETALLOY CBN,tools made of CBN sinteredmaterial,is mainly used for cutting steel with low reactivity.CBN is roughly classified into two groups from the view point of microsturcture.One group is rich in CBN content and has a structure of bonding CBN particles with each other.It is used for cutting high hardened materials such as cemented carbide,cast iron,heat resistant alloy,and so on.Another group has CBN particles firmly bonded with a special ceramic bonding agent,and shos superior wear resistance and toughness in cutting hardened steels and cast irons due to he strong compactiong force of the CBN particles.
