Municipal Solid Waste Separation System
The Municipal Solid Waste Separation System handles domestic and industrial waste, including glass, plastics, metals and organic material, basically it is designed to modify the physical characteristics of the waste so that the waste components can be easily removed. Additionally, it is able to remove specific components and contaminants from the waste stream and to process and prepare the separated materials for subsequent uses. It is constructed using Japanese technology and solid experience in the field of waste treatment.

Description:
When waste enters the system, it is received on the slat-conveyor to be averagely delivered to a manual picking line where it undergoes a pre-sort stage to isolate oversized items, eg. Cardboard, tyre, or individual beverage containers.(1)The remaining waste then goes on to a series of primary size-reduction machineries to open up any sealed bags.(2). Then the waste goes into a precise screening stage(3)where either trommel screen or ballistic separator separates three streams of waste based on size and weight difference. Then three streams are further separated by magnets, eddy current separators into ferrous metals, non-ferrous metals and inert materials. (4)Presumably inert materials, with size less than 20mm, are sent to landfill; the remaining rich organic, materials sorting out from those with size between 20mm-80mm, is ready for the next stage of the process: composting; the third stream, consisting mainly of plastics, after going through a further series of screens, plastics are sorted into individual fractions via air classification, manual picking or optical separation(5), which are optional, is well prepared for further treatment.
