1. Description

2. Properties
Coal tar is a kind of black or black brown sticky liquid got during the process of coal coking .Coal tar has special distinctive odor. Its relative density is 1.18~1.23 and the open flash point is at 200°C, and it is slightly dissolvable in water and soluble in organic solvent like benzene, alcohol, ethyl ether, chloroform, acetone etc.. Its fume and air can become explosion mixture, meanwhile, if it meets open fire, the heat, its container may have the danger to craze and explode. Therefore, we should be careful when we carry them.

4 Application
By fractionation, it can get dutrex, alkane, phenols and also can produce asphalt felt, fuel and carbon black from coal tar. Coal Tar can be used in electricity generation, coking coal for steel manufacturing and industrial process heating and medicated shampoo, soap and as a treatment for dandruff.
