General Description:
The apparatus contains a brass pan, which is used to accommodate soil specimens, a base made from fine vulcanite, an impacting device, that is to say, a cam, which is used to set the distance between the pan and the base at 1 cm, a calculator and a groove handler.
It is used to determine the liquid limit of the soil, to classify the soil, to provide soil consistency and plastic index needed in design and construction
