Ammonium polyphosphate(APP2) is  the most important and widely used acid and air source among phosphorus flame retardants, It is nearly neutral and insoluble in organic solvents,and its decomposition temperature is high ,so it  is  an excellent flame  retardant.It can be formulated with other flame retardants .It is widely used in intumescent fire resistant paint,PURF,rubber,thermosetting and thermoplastic resin.It  can also be used in timber,fiberboard,plywood etc.
