A lava lamp (or Astro lamp) is a decorative novelty item that contains blobs of coloured wax inside a glass vessel filled with clear liquid; the wax rises and falls as its density changes due to heating from an incandescent light bulb underneath the vessel. The lamps were designed in a variety of styles and colours. Briton Edward Craven-Walker invented the lava lamp in 1963. Since its invention, the lamp was a success throughout the 1960s and early 1970s. From 2000, it came back to the Market with a more stronger power and attractions, and welcomed in USA, Europe, Russia, Austrailia and other countries and areas.
