1  Main functions and characteristics

Side fiber cable ripper is a handle operating tool for stripping the protective covering of optical cable. The tool has an open structure and adopts a roller with a special outer curve gear as the main component for moving. In order to strip cables with different diameter, the tool integrates a waking roller with a plastic handle and let the center of the wheel and the cable comparatively adjustable. We design a curve groove to guide the cable in order to strip the cable of different thickness (1—5mm). Adjusting the cutting depth by a adjustable screw. The blade was designed into a structure of which is double edges like a plough and made of high quality alloy steel via a special processing. It is sharp edge and superior quality.

2         Operation and usage

2.1  The tool is mainly composed by a plastic handle, bracket, side-board, blade, roller,

adjustable screw and other devices. The side-board can turn around the roller at four

directions to form into four location.  While using, after making the head of the blade insert

into the protective covering, the user need to keep on pressing the plastic handle and lift up it.

Then the cable will be stripped.

            The processing of stripping

            turn the red spiral cap to adjust the position of blade basis on the outer cable of different

            thickness the right hand hold the ripper , the left hand hold the end of cable , insert the head of

            blade into the protective covering when user start to strip cable, make the left hand hold the

            end of the cable, then insert the head of blade into the cutting groove of protective covering

            increase human force to press the plastic handle gradually to make the ripper working

            press the plastic handle evenly and rhythmically, then lift up the plastic handle softly, repeat

            the above actions to split the protective covering

  2.3 take our ripper

    2.3.1  hold the bracket, turn the red spiral cap along a anti-clockwise direction, turn round the bracket by a few angle to loose the working blade, then it is easy to take out the ripper

2.4     exchange the blade

2.4.1  if the cutting edge is not sharp or damaged by other reasons, please loose the red spiral cap, take out the blade and exchange a new blade

2.5     clean and maintain

2.5.1            clean the dirt , water, greasy on the tool

2.5.2            to smear the edge of blade with grease to prevent rusting

2.5.3            to keep it in a special kit
