General Introduction
Our foam bladder tank, together with our ratio controllers, form a balanced pressure proportioning system used to mix water and fire fighting foam together to generate an effective extinguishing medium. The bladder tank technology is a reliable and precise mixing method that has been widely spread in the fire fighting industry. This method allows the water/foam ratio to remain stable by automatically adjusting to the variable flow rates and pressure conditions that may occur during system operation. This feature makes bladder tanks particularly suitable for multiple hazard systems, sprinkler systems and any other system operating under variable, non predictable, flow and pressure conditions.
The bladder tank is a carbon steel pressure vessel containing an elastomeric separation bladder between the water and foam concentrate. The bladder permits water pressure to be transferred to the foam concentrate without the two fluids mixing together. A ratio controller shall generate a water pressure drop by means of a reduced cross section where the water stream passes through it. As the foam concentrate pressure is higher than the pressure at the ratio controller, the foam starts flowing towards the water and mixing at a calibrated rate, which is dependent on the water flow rate.

materials and specifications of structures of a bladder tank. 1) The bladder tank body is made of 20# high quality carbon structural steel (under codes and standards of China and ISO, detailed contents are: C :0.17~0.24; Si:0.17~0.37; Mn:0.35~0.65; S :≤0.035; P :≤0.035; Cr:≤0.25; Ni:≤0.25; Cu:≤0.25). This kind of steel is suitable for the welding and construction of tanks for fire fighting foam proportioning system utility. 2) Bladder in nitrile butadiene rubber and polyester, available of the tensile strength that ensures no ruptures under operation conditions. 3) Main valves are made of corrosion resistant stainless steel. 4) Pipe networks made of seamless steel pipe. The inlet and outlet of ratio controller will be in DN100 (4") with a pressure from 6 bar up to 12 bar.
