Uses

The main application for BDGA is as a solvent in formulations for paints, cleaning fluids, coatings and inks.  In the coatings industry it is utilized as latex coalescent for water-based industrial coatings.  In the paint industry, it is a high boiling solvent and leveling agent, and a coalescent in paints and lacquers.  It is an effective solvent for cleaning fluids and is now marketed as a cleaning agent in the electronics industry.  In the ink industry it is valued as a solvent for specialty printing inks and for ball point pen pastes.  It is also a suitable solvent for dyes used in wood stains and furniture polishes.
