1. Principle
Model KDON-550/1000air separation plant is a plant recovering oxygen and nitrogen from air in a simultaneous way. It is an upgrading low consumption product using full low pressure process and turbo expanders.
The dried saturated air entering the lower column becomes liquid air due to consecutive cooling. Purified oxygen and nitrogen will be obtained after distillation carried out by use of different boiling points between oxygen and nitrogen within the distillation column. The distillation process is a process employing partial evaporation and partial condensation many times. The function of the lower column is to obtain liquid air and liquid nitrogen. The function of the main condenser/reboiler is to evaporate liquid oxygen and condense gaseous nitrogen. As to the upper column, the function is to obtain product oxygen and product nitrogen
