STS meter adopts virtual media – 20-digit encryption token to execute power information exchange, realizing the function of prepaid. The basic principle is as follows:
(1) Users buy certain electricity quantity;
(2) Electricity sales system, according to purchased electricity quantity and meter No., generate a group of unique token;
(3) Users input the token into meter through the keyboard, thus completing recharging.
Encryption token has the following features:
(1) Associated with meter No., the token is effective only when being input into the certain meter, invalid when double input;
(2) Each recharge token is unique;
(3) The token has valid period; exceeding the period is invalid;
(4) Token, which is input into meter realizing recharge, is invalid when being input again.

Functions
(1)Energy Measurement
Measuring the total (positive and negative) active energy; accumulating negative energy into the positive energy.
(2)Prepayment function without card
Via the 20-digit encryption token to realize prepayment function without card, complying with STS and IEC standards.
(3)Parameter measurement
Support measurement of such parameters as voltage, current, power, etc.
(4)Maximum demand quantity measurement
Measure and record the maximum power of last month.
(5)Overload control
Real-time measurement of users’ load conditions; when exceeding the limited load, meter will send warning signs; if the load is still higher within a period of time, meter generates automatically power off.
(6)Preventing electricity-tempering
When the meter wiring is abnormal or has been damaged, meter generates automatically power off.
