The ITR9813 is a gallium aluminum arsenic infrared emitting diodecoupled with a silicone photodarlington in a plastic housing. The gapin the housing provides a means of interrupting the signal with tape,cards, or other opaque material, switching the output from an “ON”state to an “OFF” state.
