Selection and Installation of friction stay

1.Slection of friction stay

The required load-bearing of a friction stay =casement weight(glass weight+casement bar section weight) x safety coefficient 1.3. From the window weight,check the Friction stay Aluminium Window Specification Table" to obtain the series or specifications for afriction stay to meet the load-bearing requirements. Selection of the Length of friction stay:Generally speaking,it is 2/3 of the width of a window,and if the window is lighter,it can be 1/2.For a top hung window,while selecting hinges,generally speaking,a selected hinge will be 1/2 of the height of the window.Check the other dimensions according to the above Technical Parameter.

2.Selection of Fastening screws

Usind M5X8 Stainless steel screws or ST4.2/4.8X12 stainless steel self-tapping bolts.How to choose countersunk head or pan head:Countersunk heads for any countersunk bore,but for other places(no counter bore) such as a sliding slot,pan heads are to be used.It is essential to make a friction stay,casement and window frame joined closely,and no lossening is allowed.In all the screw holes,bolts or screw shall be fastened. Our suggestion is to use the lining steel as the cushion under the aluminium bar if it is necessary. Use the pan head screw to connect the bar and lining steel.

3.Maintenance of Friction Stay

   Regular check and maintenance is needed.No hard things such as sand,cement,lime,or acid or too much dust.Oil should  be added regularly.
