How to distinguish good quality glass from bad:
a) edging and broken bubble - poor edging and broken bubble is strictly prohibited in good glass for it is concerned the safety issue.
b) brightness- good glass looks bright and crystal, while bad glass appears foggy and somewhat yellow or green
c) brightness duration- when exposed to burning sunshine, bad glass turns yellow within a week while good glass remains bright
d) foggy resist capability- under the same temperature and humidity, good glass lasts much longer than bad glass before getting foggy
e) lines and bubbles- mouth blown glass can not do without lines and bubbles, but bad glass has more lines and much bigger bubbles at the obvious part of the glass
f) hardness- good glass is hard and strong, while bad glass turns brittle and fragile, especially when drilling a hole on the glass
g) inner strength - resulted from annealing process, bad glass with unsufficient annealing has more inner strength, thus much more easy to broken when it encounter sharp temperature variation.
