- zinc borate is white crystalline powder, non-corrosive; No irritant. Specific Gravity2.77; Refractive Index 1.58; Thermally stable up to 250 C. It is a boron-based fire retardant applied in a variety of plastic and rubber compounds. Zinc Borate releases its water of hydration at temperatures exceeding 250C, and can be used in systems requiring high processing temperatures.
- "Zinc Borate" is used as a flame retardant in polymer systems such as polyvinyl chloride, nylon, epoxy, polyethylene, polypropylene, polyesters, thermoplastic elastomers and rubbers; Coating & varnish etc.
