Brown Fused Alumina  for Bonded Abrasives

 

 

1. Description:

♦ Brown Fused Alumina is a product manufactured by gradual melting reduction of calcined bauxite in an electric arc furnace at high temperature (approximately 2000 degrees Celsius). Its chemical composition consists mainly of Al2O3 (94.5-97%) and vestigial amounts of TiO2, SiO2, Fe2O3, CaO and MgO.

♦ Brown Fused Alumina is characterized by good toughness, high mechanical resistance and hardness (9 in Mohs scale). The micro hardness of the material reaches about 1900kG/mm2.

♦ Specific gravity (density) equals 3.90+/-0.05cm3. Bulk density depending on size equals 1.52-1.87g/cm3. It has relatively high thermal conductivity and low thermal expansion.

♦ It is hard and tough material, which is the perfect material specifically manufactured to be used for general abrasive applications in bonded and coated abrasive tools, and lapping and polishing processes.

♦ Brown Fused Alumina is used as a raw material in the manufacture of high alumina refractory.

♦ Resin bonded grinding wheels and segments

♦ Resin bonded abrasive and coated abrasive products

♦ Wear-resistant and fire-proof products

♦ Friction products and abrasion resistance ground

♦ Producing mold of precision casting

 

3. Grit Size Available (F):

F series: F4, F8, F10, F12, F14, F16, F22, F24, F30, F36, F40, F46, F54, F60, F70, F80, F90, F100, F120, F150, F180, F220, F230, F240, F280, F320, F360, F400, F500, F600, F800, F1000, F1200

Generally, we use 7 washing and 5 sieves for sieving the material.

 

4. Packing:

♦ Seaworthy woven bag: 25kgs or 25kgs bags to be put in 1Ton bag

♦ Jumbo bag (1 Ton bag): 90*90*90cm, for 1 Ton
